You cannot just use any employment contract, you will find that it does not do the job for you and it will cost you loads of money when it goes pear shaped.

You need to get one drafted by a professional HR consultant or firm.

Mine cost me just over £600.

You might think that this is expensive but when a employment tribinal is looking into an unfair dismissal, or even a case from someone who was not gven the job, then £600 is very cheap, compared to the amounts that they normally award.

£600 might sound a lot of money just to employ someone, but didn't just type up a contract of employment.

They also supplied the following

Disciplinary & Grievance Policy
Health & Safety Policy
Contract of Employment
The Bank Contract (for sub-contractors and temps)
Job Description Form
Absence Management Forms
The Short Absence Statement
Personnel Sheets

They also pointed out what you cannot ask in the job interview.

All of the above might seem over the top, but if you sack someone, you have to do it in the right way, if you don't then they can take you to a tribinal.

Even though you where right in sacking them if you have not followed the correct procedures then the tribinal will rule against you.

Sorry forgot to mention that I had all that already, with a contract I had copy cut and pasted from various sites.

She re wrote and modified what I had.
