Hi folks, How much advertising work do you do for your business? and what type?

i.e  Flyers/leaflets , door to door , Newspaper Ads , Yellow pages/loacl Phone directory , internet

and which methods would you say have had the best response for you?

i am just considering ways to grow my business , i have tried flyer drops and have a signwritten van but i'm not sure on the next step.

cheers
Lew

Get yourself a good website thats optimised to get up to page 1 on google quickly - thats fairly cheap. ongoing and annual costs are very low. Lots use the internet search these days.

If you got flyers it is cheap to go round knock on doors with them and sell yourself. You may get the odd booking whilst you on the door, but the client has a face behind the business as well.

Hi Joe. How do you optimise a website. Do you mean using keywords or paying to have it on page one.
Thanks
Jim

I, and many others, would have to pay to have it done. Some c/cleaners have the know how, but I havnt so I concentrate doing what I do well and thats cleaning carpets.

Agree with joe, a website is a must in this day and age.

Also advertise in local magazines, logo you work tops (or just print your business name-keep building awarenes of your business).

But with all advertising it can take time, not point doing 1 or 2 flyer drops or magazine ads-has to be constant and fairly regular.

Make a note of the way other businesses (not just carpet cleaning) are advertising. Work out whos your type of client and aim to reach THEM.

All the best
