Seriously Charly pads do work on low profile carpet especially the ribbed type commercial carpet.Like all rotary sytems the pile needs to be dressed if the carpet has a bit of a pile. The reason I like the D/F is the smell customers love it thats the only downside to using Charley pads but then I always spray Geruch stop which also is a very plesant smell. I have used Charly pads to clean dirty pub carpets and the results were fantastic.I only purchased D/f as I was not too confident using charly pads in a domestic situation but have sinced learned many ccs are using them as there sole method of cleaning.

Lads Gavin has a point remember he is a taffy (gav a jock should read as joke)

I use cp and have had demos on the Tex system both very good, now looking at the DF system.

What set them apart is there marketing video!

So Charley pads are Super after all.  And you can do do those low profile jobs for a lot less investment.

I like them :)

I have used them on a deep piled wool ( axminster if I recall) in a commercial foyer and confrence area. Results were incredibly good especially where soiling was very evident, also dry in a fraction of time than with HWE ;D

I would usually have gone the route of HWE in this situation but with such a large area to clean in only one day I needed to optimise what little time I had.

Here's a daft question  ???

I would like to try Charly pads and wondered if they were to be cut down could I use them with my 11 inch Premier Butterfly? It has a speed of 290rpm, which compared to my other machines is very slow, but MIGHT still be too fast for carpets.

I see Gavin managed to buy a second hand machine for a hundred quid, was he lucky or are there machines around at that price and I'm looking in the wrong places.

Doug

Some time ago a chap called Nobby posted on this board. He had a dryfushion machine and also the new therma dry from craftex which seems to be similar.

He said he prefered the craftex machine as it was quieter, lighter and the handle folded down therefore requiring a bit less room in the van.

having extensively used my charley pads they are well broken in and they now work wonders. can do as good a job as texatherm but about 10 times as fast. plus no washing of pads.

Hi Gary

Due to the relocation I have a second hand slow speed machine that I can offer you to go with the Super pads, give me a ring, I am sure we can thrash out a deal.

Rob I'm glad you have mastered the pads, it does take three to four jobs to get the hang of them

Best regards Nick

Ive done about 9000sm so far this year with super pads and probably 20000 over the last 2 years, they possibly the easiest things ive ever used!! just vac spray down your solution no aggitation) ring one of the pads out in plain water throw on the floor and do about 20-25sm at a time. see easy!!!
