Mine went again today. It was playing up for the last few days so the warning signs were there but a tap on the pump with the hammer would put it back.
I was in Tunbridge Wells on my first job which I just about managed to finish. Had a four bed house to do next and really did'nt want to postpone so under JK's (exemplary) advice I took the hour drive to Brighton where Williamsons are based. They are the main import of SHurflo pumps for the UK.
Met Jim and Andrew who fixed problem but told me that this was an ongoing problem with many TM users across the country.
first thought it was either the vibration of the machine (causing the diaphram to dislodge) or as John suggested, grit was getting into the supply (through a lack of an inlilne filter).
Andrew is clearly very knowledgeable and discounted both these possibilities. Does anyone know why this happens because Williamsons are investigating and at this point they take the view that the switch itself may not be needed but as they confessed, they do not know what happens after water enters machine to be heated and pumped on so are second guessing. Would appreciate any feedback
