Alex Gardiner has gone to great lengths to patent his designs, I'm sure we'll here more about this obvious design copy.

Personally, I hope gardiners sue their arses off!!

It’s just a ‘design patent’, huge difference from a real granted ‘Patent’ Ionic’s clamp looks different so Gardiner’s cant do anything. Other manufacturers will soon alter there clamp lever.

Anyway why should Gardiner’s be the only ones to have the clamp lever going across horizontal? When there are loads of clamp designs for wfp with the clamp lever operating the other way up/down vertically along the pole length.

Fact is there is loads of clamp lever design similar to Gardiner’s on camera tripods legs, been around for years and years.   :

You said it yourself ‘Design Copy’

Looks like a different design to me, maybe you should look closer at the detail and are you colour blind as well.

I show you how naive I am I will bet you everything you have, that Gardiner’s cant do anything about Ionic new design of clamp. Apart from go to court for infringement then lose the case then  have to pay both cost and possibly lose his design patent in the process.

Correct me if I am wrong, as you are not so naïve on this matter, please enlighten me on this, I’m sincerely interested in your expert opinion.

he will have to open the pencil case again soon ( doesnt want to wear the hinge on it too much, its limited edition you know ) and get the pencil sharpener out
