following up a quote
« on: March 29, 2010, 07:11:57 pm »
Hello all
Quite new here been window cleaning for 4 months now and just wanted to know when you give a quote.
And they seem very interested, and then they don’t get back to you.
Does anyone call back to see them or not?
About 4 weeks ago called in some shops, asked if they wanted a window cleaner one shop did not have a window cleaner so priced it up, they said would ring but did not.
One more shop had a window cleaner but not happy with him because he was not doing all the windows. So I price it up told them I would do all the windows and asked how my price was to the other window cleaner, they said  good, but they do not ring  :'(.
And yes they have  my phone number ;D ;D
Thanks Gareth

I always ask for a number and chase up a week later

9 times out of 10 when they say 'i'll ring you' they never do  :o

If its worth my whil, I 'follow up' on it anywhere between a week or 4 weeks later.

i will ring you is a secret code for "your having a laugh thats far too expensive" even though it was a perfectly reasonable price

it is usully  their polite way of saying no thanks,  but like the other other replies, it is no bother following it up.  Maybe its the last push that get them to say yes

i find it best to quote and do the job there and then, if you call another day, sods law they find a cheaper price, or change their mind. so many jobs lost like that, but then im not complaining, ive got work coming out of my ears at the moment.

Always ask them for a number to call them back on if its a doorcan customer. As others have said they will rarely call you back off their  own back but if you foillow them up you will close 50%  of your callbacks..tried and tested numbers those.

Not following up is just leaving business for someone else to pick up.Try it,it will work. :)

There are some useful closes my canvassers use on my website...go to resources and check under premier cleaning staff .... doorcan script and successful canvassing operation.

They might be useful.Hope it helps . :)
