I`ve started to do a lot more commercial work, and require more bonnet pads. Trouble is what ones do I go for. I have a few amtech with the green stripe ones that are good, I think. Restoremate ones don`t seem to get as dirty, but clean easily and what about charly pads. Are the still the dogs dangles but expensive. Any thoughts please.

Charly pads are like Marmite. Some love them, some hate them.

But are they expensive? As individual items probably yes. But if you clean substantially sized areas, a couple of hundred pounds for Charly's as opposed to say £500 for a set of textile pads to clean the same area, then Charly's look like really good value.

Some like microfibre pads but need to use a different medium sometimes to agitate.

My advice is to try one or two different pads at a time. Sometimes you can borrow from a colleague, some you may need to buy. Find what works for you and whatever the cost, they will be a small investment for something that can earn you £££££££££'s.

Give them a call and aybe ask for one and see how you get on with it.

There good quality and mine are still going strong after many years..

The dryfusion pads are around 1/2 the price of the texatherm. Are they both 17 inch?

I dont rate the microbibre pads, they are probably the worst type of pads i have ever used.  The Charly padds are by far the best, Texatherm pads are also good as to are the Prochem Cotton pads.

You probably wont be able to buy Dry Fusion pads unless you are licensed. But they are good.

is it just me who uses folded bath towels?

I've got some d/f  pads they are a bit weird in that they never look dirty. I can clean a minging carpet, make it look clean but the pad looks no different

I must be a better cleaner than you  Mike I get some really grotty pads with my D/F. They do have an absorbent core, so have you ever tried rinsing one in a bucket of clean H₂O?

I did just that a couple of months back on a static caravan, when trying to dry it asp.....worked a treat

Back to the origional question and I prefer the Tex cotton pads as they are absorbant by nature. IMO charlie pads just knock the dirt off the fibres where upon it sinks to the bottom of the pile and then gets vacuumed up at a later stage.
