I am thinking of adding carpet protector as as add on to carpet cleaning and wanted to ask what you are all using, the most recognised protector is Scotchguard but is this the best,
 is it economical, do you need a license and training to sell it.
Also what is the going rate for providing this service and last but not least is it only a benefit on wool rich carpets.

James - I stick with the Alltec Promite waterbased product although there are a lot more products out there that others will swear by.
Is it economical?  Well that's up to your coverage ratio but I always find it profitable.
Price wise - well thats up to your business model - charge what you need to for your own profit margin but for a 14x12 lounge for instance I would go in at least at £29.00 for the stain pro.

I've been using Fluoroseal from Prochem and charge £2.50 sq m.
Going to going to try the nanoprotector from can't remember now where I saw it.
It's a decent price and goes a lot further so you can charge less and make more.

Same as john £2.50sqm or around half the price of the clean i also use the prochem one but might try
Ashbys next time its cheaper and you get promotional leaflets with it to hand out i like the idea of that.

I'm a big fan of Flouroseal because of it's anti static properties. This means that on traffic areas, where the eletrical charge will be the greatest, you get a better repellent of the soiling.

Good as an add on for commercial custys near the coffee machines etc.

Prochem & Chemspec protectors are great.  Never had any problems when using them & they really do work.  I remember years ago that our local janitorial supplier had a sales rep from Guardsman try to promote their guard.  The guy at the shop sent him packing and informed me that the rep couldnt convince him it was a good product so no way would he sell it to his customers.
