How much would you charge for....
« on: March 10, 2010, 03:40:23 pm »
.... 2 runs of carpets, about 26ft by 2 1/2ft.They are not fixed, they are like long rugs, not done a burn test or anything yet.I have had a quick look and they are man-made/secondary backing and cream coloured. One run is not too bad,but the other is full of stains...wine,food ect and lots of black ink stains from  petals(they are used for weddings).I can take one home at a time to clean if i want, any ideas on price(the owner  thought it would be about 30 quid for both  :o).
There is probably a chance of cleaning them 2 or 3 times a year if i do a good job.Any ideas on price guys for the first clean(this would be my first commercial customer) cheers.

Keyplus,

Are you been serious ?  or are you taking the p**s ?  oh yes of course April fools day . oops no thats in a cple of weeks  ;)

Seriously,  £30  to clean runs covered in lord knows what? you have already mentioned ink !!!  dont know why ink from petals, but if you say so. you sure it is not perhaps pollen from the stamens, any way back to the price.
You are picking them up cleaning and returning , i would say thats £30 before you start depending how far, then you may have to spend half an hour on one ink stain alone , ink is a bugger for been never ending just one little speck can cover a towel, so i would suggest you you tell them the facts of how big a job it is, and quote at least £150. or walk away .
who ever said dont knock before u try ,i never tried dog crap but i know i wouldnt like  haha

i'd clean em there, £50 for the easy one and £100 for the other, with no promises other than improving the appearance.

You get a good laugh with some folk. I had someone tell me my quote was double someone else's. Were you happy with the service madam, I enquired. NO was the answer. Rest my case your honour.

Yeah always love those!  I did a job recently for a woman who does SEO work for another CC.  Why she didn't use him is anyone's guess and she wouldn't tell me!

If custys ever tell me I am more expensive than Joe Blogs, I tell them "I am sure they are best placed to know the value of the service they are offering". No reply to that is there?

They are imitation black petals, the lady left them in the carpet and rolled it up leaving ink marks all over the carpet.
