Pure Water - Trolley System
« on: March 10, 2010, 11:13:15 am »
Looking at purchasing this system - cost about £900. Does anyone use this system?

Is it any good?

This is going to be a new business - so my business plan is to build upto around 200 cleans per month - can this system cope?

Is it any good for conservatory cleans and also soffit & Fascias?

I have been emailing the company and they come across very professional - they have even offered to give me a training course for £60.00

I have seen similar machines which are a lot cheaper - but I would rather pay extra and get a quality machine thats going to last for a while.

Cant afford to have a van system at the moment - so this will be my starter

Any thoughts anyone?

Pure Freedom - the supplier you are looking at - have a good reputation.

I started 5 years ago with a trolley in my estate car from Aquatec window-tools (Peter Fogwill) which was fine and had the advantage of letting you choose to carry one or two 25L barrels but was less professionally built. It came with Unger Poles up to 40ft but they were monstrously heavy!

I then went for a tank and reel plus backpack and now have a van and never use the trolley or backpack.

I think it looks a good way to plug in and go but if you succeed in w/c you will out grow it but it will then be a useful supplement to whatever you get next.

As I'm an old fart I would quickly think about getting a different pole than the one offered - I am a big fan of the SLX range from Gardiners for rigidity and lightness.
It's a game of three halves!

Just my opinion, but when it comes to trolleys I've always liked the X-Line trolley, and its a bit cheaper.

Exactly my thoughts as well. The X-Line is a very refined product with definite advantages over the Pure Freedom one. The build is absolutely superb and unlike Pure Freedom X-Line is run by a very long established window cleaning company so they really do know what they are talking about.

Before I last bought trollies I looked at both and went for the X-Line one and have to say that the after sales etc could not be better. Also they will give you all the help you need to learn how to use the system as part of their normal service.

Hope this helps

Dan

im after a trolley in a couple of months.i want one with room for 2 25lt containers on and a length of hose so im not going back to the van as often!also do you think ill get 12 25lt containers in the back of a connect/combo??

im sure a trolley will be better for some of my compact estates where parking is an issue and less of a trip hazard.also if im doing just a big stand alone maybe i could leave the trolley in the van and use it like a van mount!!also in winter i can bring trolley in so no freezing issues with the pump etc and ill be able to empty van if i want to use the van for something else and when i come to sell it im not messing with taking the tank out etc.

ill be DI only with tap water at 35tds so if i need more than 300 lts ill take a small di and hose and top up a few containers from custys outside tap as there are loads on my round!! ;) ;D ;D

im goin straight for a brodex 25 ft hydra pole for starters then get a few more when funds allow!! ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

I look at all these deals and cannot help but feel they are so expensive. If you are flush with cash they are all fine. But if not, you can still put together a cheaper system. There is someone that makes a copy of the Wcw back pack with a25 litre tank. Put this on a sack truck and all very neat. Buy a hydra pole and a ro/ di for about 150 quid and a water but for 20 quid a few odd things like hoses and you are away for about 400 quid max. Why spend until you now its for you and it will work. The backpack will always be used for difficult to reach places so will not be a waste. There are still more saving if you need to be frugel. All these systems all clean windows as it is the human element that messes up.Its not rocket science.

Hi Dez
been looking on the Pure freedom site for a 50 Lit for my Nephew,  he is just starting out on his own as he helped me for a while.
Going to freedom to look at one with him, it looks like a limo version of the orig that I own and still use, its had its fair share of battering and still going strong very well built here is the link  http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/store_50ltrolleysys.html

i certainly dont want a backpack on a sack truck as a backpack only holds 16-18 lts doesnt it?i want to be able to do an hours work or so with 50 lts on the trolley and some hose so im not moving the trolley or going back to the van to top up as much!i want to be cleaning!!

ok maybe the trolleys are a bit more expensive but surely there a bit more robust with better batteries/pumps/tyres etc.

there going to take some hammering day in/day out. ;) :) :)

sack truck with a 25 L barrel ( which filled to the brim holds allmost 30 L )

pump box, and battery

a sack truck is designed to haul stuff all day everyday

how many barrels do you take to work with you tosh?do you think ill be able to carry 12  25lt containers(300 lts)in the back of a connect/combo?? :-\.   i hope so!! :) :)

most of my work is domestic and there are a lot of outside taps with low tds(roughly 35tds)so i can always top up with a small DI and hose. ;)

Easily. Just make up a frame to hold in! (I carried 8 in the far back of my Volvo Estate without the back seats down - where my trolley lived)

I have 10 -12 loaded up in my connect and a full wcw backpack when I start ,suppose i'm lucky that i'm never more than 15-30 min away from home if i run out which hasn't happened yet.
