4 years ago I had my van with all my kit inside stolen from outside a house I was cleaning. ( nightmare )
NFU were very good and when it was recovered 3 days later ( minus my equipment ) they sorted out all the repairs.
They paid out the full policy value for my equipment and although I had underestimated the replacement cost of the bigger items they changed the policy to reflect the true value in future at no extra cost.
Never had a problem with them so I would rather pay a little more for peace of mind.

I thought the 250k treatment risk was very high and especially for such a low premium, mines set at 25k. I was told to phone my broker if I ever did a job that I thought would exceed this and they would inform my insurer. Derek your premium seems pretty low for so much treatment risk.

To date no one else seems to have confirmed they are also covered for this amount for a treatment risk.

So the jury is out.

Derek

Above on the one side you mention 'treatment risk' & on the other side you mention 'product liability'.    Check out the definitions carefully in each case.  You might find that they are not one and the same thing

Hi Derek,  ;D

Maybe think I need to change my insurers, I wasnt having a go or doubting you, it seems a very good price for alot of cover, as Ive said mine is 10mill employee, 5 mill public, loss of keys, misuse of telephones etc, items worked upon, but only 25k treatment risk.

like a lot of people have said on here, when it comes to insurance companies, price is one thing, them paying out is another.

anyone had any problems with allied paying out? obviously axa are a definate no no, judging from some of the posts.

oh and just an update, NFU quoted me £1300. :o

I think its a must to be bothered to shop around, just like any other insurance (home, car etc) I always seem to end up leaving until the last minute, in my experience most premiums are based on turnover. I will make the effort next year and get quotes direct rather than using a broker.
