Pole carriers for smaller vans
« on: February 17, 2010, 09:35:16 pm »
In the process of purchasing a 45' pole but I don't think i'll get it in my Doblo.

Anyone else come across this sitiuation and what sort of pole carrier did you buy.

Looking on the net they seem to be around £110 for a 3m long x 100mm diametre one.

ANy bargains to be had out there would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Lance

if you use ladder clamps you can lock them with padlocks. but i suppose a couple of holes drilled through the end caps and the pipes would make them lockable as well

Hi Wayne,

Just seen that you're in Nuneaton.

That's a bit of a trek for me to come and collect. Any chance you could post it and i'll add the expense to the £35.

Cheers,
Lance

i had the same prob. you have to ways of doing it really.

get a 3m 110mm soil stack and fix it to the roof bars - thats the cheaper option.

or if you want a good well made pipe carrier then give AIKO DESIGN a ring - ive done this.

they will make you a custome pipe carrier and even cut a hole at the top end so your brush can stick out and the lid will still close and lock.

aiko design are top blokes - tell them you spoke to Martin and that its for a window cleaning pole.
then they will know what you are on about. they are making mine now.

speak to Bill - top man!

one thing you will have to think about is that with a long pole ie 30ft plus - the pole hose is very long and can be a pain putting in pipe carrier with pole in the way.

Hi Martin,

Just had the price £132.99 +Vat for a 3m carrier.

Found a few other sites online that are a bit cheaper but obviously not with the cut-out end cap.

Cheers for the suggestion though,
Lance

Sunshine

If you could sort your own carrier out that would be a great help to me,I'd just attatch the 2 parts that connect it to the roof rack to it and being aluminium it would probably only need your address attatching to it.Let me know what you think.

Hi Wayne,

The hunt for a pole carrier is off mate.

Just purchased a 44' pole which fits into the van. Just have to take off the goosenack and brush to fit the pole in.

Thanks for the offer though and thanks to evryone else who's helped on this subject. Case closed.

Regards,
lance
