Hi All,
Any one else have problems with Bane pumps? the rubber stator on my machine keeps breaking down, the one I have has only lasted two months after having no problems for years.
Are there any other suppliers of these pumps in uk? or does anybody know if you can replace it with a regular truck mount pump.

Hi Martin, I have e-mailed the guy who looks after our Bane machines. Something is obviously wrong here as we have one machine which is 20+ years old and that bit has only been replaced 3-4 times in that period. As soon as I get a reply I will post it. Phil D

re bane pump -  the main uk supplier are 'robbin & meyer' - the pump is a
Moyno 500 pump 300 series . They have their main sales office in Southampton
[02380 760000] Their main parts place is in Bolton  [01204 862777] but I think u have to go via Southampton. I have used them and they r cheaper than Spurgeons and their service is quite good . u will fine the serial number on the pump chasing

The pump upgrade; I looked for ages to find a pump that could be exchanged for the bane pump, but the problem was the temp' of the water that would pass through it most pumps cannot withstand the 180' temp of the water. also you don't have a lot of power to play with, if you fit too big a pump the electric motor would be strained and start blowing the fuse.

but I found the answer!!!You can fit  a Hypro small twin plunger pump (5321c or 5322c)

This pump will;
1)handle the temp'

2)it will work at 1430rpm ( the rpm of the motor fitted in your bane).

3)its small enough to fit in the space where the bane pump sits ( although new holes will have to be drilled)

4) it will give 1000psi @ 2.2gl/min.

5)requires only 1hp to work

of course you'll have to upgrade the fittings to handle the pressure

Hi Martin, probably no use to you now but as promised I had a word with the repair guy. He said " If it's the outer rubber of the stator that is failing (not the internal bit with the worm drive in it), it could be that the pump inner case is pitted / rusty / rough and just needs wet and dry on it"

Pitted cast iron will need a bit more than wet n dry to smooth it. I have a pump that's knackered because of a small chip on the cast iron housing causing a bad sealting. Replaced the stator and seals twice before noticing the problem.

The pumps Mike's pointed out would be an excellent upgrade if the cost was reasonable.

As ever Mikes on the ball,
they are a brilliant little pump cheap as chips and run for ever.

When ordering  from Dual pumps be sure to get the one with a pully shaft as there are 2 types.

Great bit of info, does that pump have pressure adjustment or can you use the Bane adjuster as normal?

no you have to fit a pressure relief valve and upgrade any fitting eg; you can't use any solution lines that are held on with jubilee clips or similar

I would guess that this job might be a little bit complicated for you try and find an engineer who can do it
