Hi

If you have an established customer base who trust you to do a good job, then the change over is easier.

Just a brief explanation of your new tools stressing safety is mostly all that is necessary. Most people know the system anyway. Just get on with it, but do make sure that the windows have dried fine. Some may be a problem so be prepared to do them again, even if you have been paid for them. If you say too much in explanation, you can create a rod for your own back. If you tell them that they may find the odd couple of white run marks/spots they will go look for them, when they probably wouldn't have noticed them under normal circumstances.

Nowdays we don't even bother to tell new customers about the system, but we always will always check and make sure that everythings OK once they had dried and then get the customers approval. You may get the odd problem window which usually come right in time. The worst windows on our round are my own front lounge and downstairs bedroom windows which still leave white streaks as do our neighbours on our right. Another windy had the neighbour behind us and he had the same problems with her back windows - all south facing. I also have a customers conservatory that has streaked for the past 4 years, so we wash as normal and blade each window. Doesn't take too long. Otherwise we have very few issues.

We have a few customers who work all day and so we just changed over automatically,  they were none the wiser. We always confirmed they were happy when we collect on Friday evenings. However, be prepared for them to be at home one day and be surprised that you don't dry them off.
Just say that they had always been happy with the result and this is the way you get that result. In fact blading the windows dry can cause streaks. Tell them if they aren't happy they must ring you - never had a call back yet.

They, the customer, are responsible for your safety while working on their property, so you are ensuring that you are operating in the safest way possible using WFP - got to be a win win situation for them, although they may not realise it yet.

Did we lose some - yes but they were problems anyway. ( I always think that our problem customers also look at us the window cleaner as a problem service supplier, so changing over to WFP was an perfect excuse to stop our services). We lost a few more when we increased the price by 50% as it was underpriced, but within a few months had replaced them all and more at a better price. We did get some of them back later, so it worked out fine.

As per the Nike advert - just do it!!
