Interesting Week
« on: January 23, 2010, 06:30:34 pm »
Hi Guys

Now I haven't had my most profitable week but an interesting one, lots of stain removal jobs. most of which I've had good results.

Sometimes this job can be a bit boring but I do enjoy the challenge of stain removal.

I have reduced, oxidised ,dissolved and used solvents all to good effect.

What makes it more interesting for you?

Cheers

Doug

i'm not sure about interesting but what makes it for me is when a customer calls me back to say how fantastic their carpets/furniture looks after they have dried. makes it all worth while,

What makes it interesting for me, is that people still ask me to clean their carpets after all these years and I can actually still do the work  ;D

seeing as i only started recently and not sure i could sell it,Giving the highest quote and still getting the job definately the most satisfying for me, then making £470 in a day which for me was a first too.
just wish it happened more often looked at a job today the guy did not even have electric connected had to look at the carpet in the dark ??? dont know why i bothered it must have been worth all of £5 covered in rock hard paint i felt them could not see em, got me out the yellow pages so that was money well spent ::)

This has been a very satisfying week for me, im now 9 months into carpet cleaning and the first two jobs of the year have been repeats. Very happy, heres hoping for many more.

As for interesting, this job i find is always interesting meeting diff people working diff places. And im sure we could club together and release a dvd....confessions of a carper cleaner ;)

When the phone rings.......a caller saying "I've  been recommended to you"......receiving a thank you letter.......getting a stain out that you were absolutely convinced wouldn't come out till you tried and ,"hey presto".......when jobs line up so that you have very little travelling.......big money weeks......not cleaning upholstery........finding a new line of conversation with clients that results in overcoming objections to booking in or  them having more carpets cleaned or having more protected.

Basically all those things give me the "buzz"

that's true joe, after almost a month off due to the snow, i did my first full busy day last friday, after i finished for the day, had a shower and sat down i could hardly move for the rest of the evening, muscles seized up! the next morning i almost crawled down the stairs!!!!
the good thing is that within an hour of starting work that day i was back to normal, just the normal physical wreck!.

Doug Apart from the usual wedge of cash and THankyou Alan that looks lovely comment I have found meeting interesting people(usually in Oxford from work i get through your site)really makes this job worth doing.I live in Swindon and we arent swamped by such a mix of cultures and professions so its been a breath of fresh air for me.I even started to listen to people and be interested in what they do and say which isnt my first instinct but has proved very rewarding on many levels.Regards Alan
