Time Waster
« on: January 20, 2010, 03:10:36 pm »
Quoted for a gutter clean on a commercial building last Friday and the guy was more than happy to go ahead. When I got home, I emailed the quotation and he replied, wanting to know if we could do them asap. Emailed him back and said we would do the job Monday.

When we turned up, he asked why we were there saying that he didn't want them done. I told him that I had emailed him a date to do the job as requested, and his reply was 'yes, but I never actually replied to say that was ok.

What a time waster, he could at least have responded to the email to say so.

Oh well, you live and learn, but all the same, annoying to say the least.
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

Thats annoying.  Maybe he couldn't get the job authorised or maybe he was testing you out to see what your workload was like.  I always get confirmation of jobs before I do them unless it's on a monthly cycle, especially if the jobs a biggie, I then try to get an order code.

As you say live and learn.

Simon.
