Bad weather was brilliant
« on: January 22, 2010, 09:30:38 pm »
I lost so much time with the big freeze that I'm now in a position to pick my jobs to specific areas for my days work. I can compact my round to a few streets and cut out all those wasted van trips I used to do. Roll on the summer  :)

This happens to me all the time and i've asked on here about it before.

Yes, me too with the weather, but also two annual two week holidays.

I have divided my work into four geographical rounds, each one currently having about nine pages outstanding.It's too much for my small brain and i just hit the easy most profitable targets.

They are all big payers!

I wish - got a lot of non-payers at the moment.  ::)

its not been so bad for me as 99% of my round is 8 week cycle, it must be a nightmare for 4 week ones, as you cant get it back?

anyone else do the 8 weeks or is it just me?

ps only 30 carried over to next week, nearly there!

Yes Matt, but even if it were perfect, mix in a two week hol and it's straight back to chaos.

perfect mix, thats where people go wrong, they offer 4 weeks, 6 and 8 weeks, offer them all the same, even if a customer says " oh can you do it every 5 weeks " i say " yes as close as i can " i know full well they will fall in with my work, they soon get used to it  ;)

thus that 2 week holiday just means that you are 2 weeks late

i just take week long hols, and try and bring custs forward to 7 weeks, so i dont have to much to come back to, as i only work 3-4 days a week its not too much work to get back on top
