sounds like there could be a blockage in ya hose or maybe ya pole if ya pole is in connected to the hose!! sometimes my pole hose connection to the hoselock on my hose doesnt fit in and it blasts the hose that connects to my pump out because of the pressure build up.

this might not be the problem tho just an idea

Mark,

Are your van ports the hoselock type non return fittings?

Hi Mark
You say "one of the pumps" - does the other work alright using the same hose reel and bush?

Mark,

Ive had a similiar problem in the past and found that the connectors weren't fitting as snuggly as they used to and weren't engaging the non return valve.

I just snipped off the valve and all was well, although with yours being on a van port you might want to replace the connectors as it would probably syphon your tank if you don't!

To test if it is this turn on your controller, plug the hose into your vanport and firmly hold the connector against the port - if this solves the problem it is the non return valve.

Hope this helps

Regards

Al

If thats the case it is more than likely that it is the non return valve on that particular hoselock fitting on the van port.

I would imagine it would be pretty simple to change it for a new one

Have you got a kink in your reel?

no kink in the reel...

i will try to explain better.......

ok so on my  reel i have a short piece of hose with hozelock connector which i connect to my vanport
if i plug in the short piece of hose to the van port water comes out the end fine. but if i plug it then on to the hose reel the pump just stops.

the reel is fine no kinks or anything, and if i connect it to the second pump in the van all is fine.
