van heaters

which ones are the decent ones and can they connected to a battery etc

The problem with trying to heat your van from your van battery is the low voltage of the van battery. 12volts just isn't gonna cut it.

Previous posts have reccommended, oil filled radiators plugged into your house mains. (I use one of these very good) Or calor gas heaters, or parafine heaters (watch out for smutty smoke coating your van on this one, I speak from bitter experience)

i have oiled filled in van pluged into mains.did look at buying a truck night heater but a bit pricey

Go into Ebay, search " Frost Heater" get a 500w frost heater for about £12.95. Got one in my van and it just keeps it from freezing at night.  Not powerfull enough for big vans though.

yes i got a oil heater from argos £24.99 so far so good , there is a photo of one on the other post headed ,RO insulation.

espacher van heaters are powered by diesal and van battery, (I may have spelt that wrong by the way)

espacher van heaters are powered by diesal and van battery, (I may have spelt that wrong by the way)

I've used an electric fan heater for the last 3 winters with no probs at all.

just came back from croydon shopping went into poundland has i was cold looked around and found a halogen heater 400watts /800watts £6.99 works great just fitted a saftey plug and on a timer on for 1hour off 1/2 hour and same again windows are clear and pipes are ok

:-\  I thought things in poundland cost a pound ? did I miss something :-\

good heaters but it will draw 21 amps from your battery to start and another 21 amps to shut down . i know this my mates got one on his boat.
