Work in light rain, showers. If a custy gives us the "Not this time" or "You're not doing them in this are you?" just get replaced. Even if you explain, they stop listening after 30 seconds, so why waste time, just get 2 new custies.

I bought a round (Matlock area) and this is the 4th clean I've done (monthly). They were all trad and I do them wfp. I don't clean in the rain as I don't want to upset anyone but today (foggy damp) I started out and 1 said no and another said "You're not doing them today are you?". So now I'm pee'd off and back home  :(

Point no 1:  When you changed them over to WFP, did you give them a leaflet explaining the system?  If so did it include a rain guarantee?

Point 2:  In answer to the 'not today, thankyou' (especially when it's only foggy)  Tell them you need to keep working or you'll have to give it up because you can't earn a living sitting at home.  Then tell them the system works just as well in any weather conditions, but if they don't believe you then they can look when the windows have dried, and if they can see anything wrong with them they can phone you and you'll come straight back and do them again.

If they still refuse after that, tell them you won't be doing them anymore because a customer who won't have it done is worse than no customer at all.
That is a top post and so true.

Just got off the phone to a custy. She said your coming even if its raining. Told her I would and that if it rains and her windows weren't clean that I would make the 15 mile round trip to clean them free of charge.

I make a point of telling my custys I clean in the rain and that if they are not satisfied, that I will come out of my way to clean them free of charge.

I also tell them that if they are not clean to ring me, I don't bite, not even if you ask nicely... Always gets a laugh.

Hi Ian,

Thanks for this, I know I'm too soft with them. I did give them a leaflet but it didn't have a rain guarantee at the time.

Next time I'll explain to them how wfp works and offer a reclean.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Dave.

work in rain whether i am doing trad or wfp, if its unsafe due to high winds and rain might give it a miss but i work through most weather. i am right up to date with my work right now and wouldnt be if i kepting taking days off, had one new customers mentioned rain so i just left her for eight weeks till she eventually phoned me to ask where i had been, i replied evry time ive come to do your windows its looked like rain ;D she says ok i take the hint can you do them as soon as and never complained since

in my ten years of window cleaning i`ve only started working in the rain this last year. i got so far delayed that i could of started losing custys. now its a must for light rain and 90% of custys to my surpise dont mind, the ones that dont like it have to wait another month, if its raining next month they`re screwed. End of the day we have to keep a schedule
