sorry lads i been out last couple of nights. It has gone pretty well so far, gained a few new customers whilst out and about(got 2 while I was waiting in a qeue in the post office!!)and got a few more door knocking.everything seems ok so far, apart from on first day I parked on a slope and water stopped coming out of pole on my last job of the day, anyway I turned van round so there was plenty of water at the tank outlet end and still no joy, took pipes off, blew through them etc and eventually got it going, but had to have it on a higher setting on varistream to get anywhere near same amount of water through.went out today(2 days later)and it did it first thing,on a really crap job where i had to keep scrambling over a wall to try to fix it,eventually i took my reel off my outlet hose, removed the hozelock fitting and gave it a good blast out on number 9 setting for couple of mins, was fine after that.I thought the bloody pump was knackered already, why was this?was it air locked or something,if so how do i prevent this,or do i just give it a blast through every morning?

could have been air

the answer, dont let your tank run dry

you could fit your tank on a angled pallet type of thing, then the water will allways be down the outlet end

Possibilities:-
1) A dodgy hoselock fitting?  It can happen sometimes.  Try getting some more and swap them around.  It's not wasted money.  You need to replace them from time to time anyway.
2) A kink somewhere along the hose that you didn't notice (less likely than 1)  .
3) I don't know how you have set things up but I have a feed pipe in the tank with gauze on the end to stop crap getting into the pump.  Occasionally the gauze can get clogged and needs the fluff pulling off it (a bit like belly buttons).

It may well have been an airlock too.
Can't help re varistream.  I don't use one.  I use a "return to tank" system instead.

yeh i could drop a length of wood under one side i suppose,Its typical,it did it first time when I was on last job and had to pick kids up from school and nursery,so ended up rushing, then did it today on the worst job possible, had to keep scrambling over that wall,I tell you,if and when I get a full round, that is the first job to get dumped!!!!  :)

I used loads of water first day, virtually a full 400 litre tank full, and did 9 jobs, mind you I am still playing around with the settings, and I know i use too much water anyway,I go over the top with the cleaning and rinsing, but they are all new customers to me and I want to make a good impression.probably used a bit less yesterday, and only did one this afternoon and then went canvassing,I used most of what water was left over yesterday, but i wasted a lot trying to sort air lock or whatever out, broke my heart seeing all that water running down the road after all the hours it takes to produce   :'(
