gg3 ? jury still out!
« on: November 25, 2009, 08:16:59 pm »
hi all
received a free sample of GG3 have used it over the last two days or so
followed the instructions for mixing/diluting to water seems ok my main concern is it tends to leave patches of fluid on the window,am i mixing it right or do you guys just throw it in the bucket to your own mixture
must admit it did tend to leave a nice shine on the windows

I hated it's lack of "slide" when used in the proportions stated. I only used it for a clean or two before going wfp to reduce soap residue.
It's a game of three halves!

GG3 and GG4 is cheaper than any 'fairy liquid'
I mix my GG4 20ml and 5ml of sorbo glide in 7ltrs of water.

I used GG3 before I went WFP,.. it took a bit of getting used to though.

Now I'm not using trad every day, I can't get on with it. Now I use W5 from lidl, decanted into an old GG3 bottle just incase any over curious custies peer into the back of the van!

I use it much stronger than the instructions state.

Also, it does not keep long in the bucket. If the water gets dirty l find I lose slide and grease cutting totally. Unlike Fairy etc, adding more GG3 to the dirty water does not seem to help.

I change the water when it gets dirty and wring all the dirty water out of my applicator before putting it into the fresh solution.

Must say though, that most of our employees don't like it. Maybe due to the above. Maybe because they find it hard to see the solution on the galss and leave bits. I never have this problem.

GG3 it very good and comes into it's own with commercial and pole work. No need to detail at all and no white suds all over the sills. Great stuff!

Also, if you have windows which sometimes are done with WFP and then trad, the GG3 does not leave soap residue.

The Sorbo glide is excellent, highly recommend it if your using GG3 or GG4, Think its about £7.00 for a bottle but it lasts ages as you only need to teaspoonful per bucket.

well got my free sample and what stevekennedy said is spot on, i struggled to start with because its clear but by friday afternoon i had it sussed. i didnt add anything to the mix but did use around 10ml to my 5 litres of water.

to me is the only downside is its difficult to see bits youve missed

but the huge upside is the lack of soapy suds all over the ledges and cills

Has anyone went from an expensive window clean detergent to washing up liquid and then had complaints from customers ? I think each to there own, but I use lidls own w5 washing up liquid and it cleans the windows just fine, so how much cleaner can these more expensive liquids get the glass ?

Use an old 500ml Fairy bottle with just water in and then add the GG3. Then use the bottle to keep topping up your applicator. When it runs out, do the same again.
You`ve always got a fresh, strong solution with clean water then.
Occasionally, give your applicator a good soak or clean.
