tough in scotland
« on: November 17, 2009, 04:09:10 pm »
wa scleaning one of my shops today and the women who work in it were asking how much i charge for cleaning a house. Told her i would need to see it and she said her window cleaner put his price up by 50p so now it is £3.50. She feels she is getting ripped off and i told her that is about as cheap as it will ever be. They asked why prices go up i said cost of living goes up along with everything else.

Told he rnot to moan at those prices. So everyone who is getting good money be grateful for what you are getting becaus eup here in scotland it's hard to get the prices some of you guys charge down south

There is not much chance of getting the prices some on here claim to get. Most of my houses are ex council houses, £6-£7 is as much as I charge and that is more than a lott of the established cleaners charge. I'm going out into some of the vilages and country houses that are around my area to see if I can get some of them, maybe be able to charge a bit more for them.  ::)

My charges start at £6 and top off at £20 i cant charge anymore than that, infact its only cos the house has 24 windows i can charge £20 for it, i know the person is greatful that im there doing it too so when the time comes im sure she wont say no if i put it up to £25.  The rest in between are at £7, £8, £10, £12 and £15.  Its hard to charge mental money in NI.

I don't beleive this north/south/region thing. You have to get the right client in the right areas. I live in scotland & my prices range from £3 to £640 per single account. I have more work than I need & probably a little too much. There's plenty of guys around here charge less than me & are happy doing the estates/terraces etc.

This is the main reason I don't advertise, as I want to choose my customers.
