Hot Poll

If cost were not an issue would you convert to a hot system?

My 2 main concerns are:

1 Breaking glass
2. Does it cause wooden painted or stained frames/sills to degrade more quickly?

on my thermopure machine i can set the heat temp. Not once in over 2year with it have i broke a window. And it was snowing at begining of the year!!! Regarding wooden frames i found out evan with the cold machines it degrades them as well. All depends on if there looked after i guess.

As regards (1) the issue is thermal shock and temp difference not necsssarily the hotness of the water. As an example on a day in january when the outside temp is a mild zero, before nine oclock depending on the outward facing direction glass can be as low as minus ten-fifteen due to the effect of frost.A single glazed window in a downstairs unheated toilet room would be a good candidate, splash this with sufficient warmish water and you have a cracker.

However, use common sense and there are no problems.

Thanks for replies guys, especially interesting hot users.

My van is just under 4 years old so not planning to change it for a while, but I am leaning toward having next van fit with a hot system. The cheapest I've seen so far is 2k incl vat for the hot add on.

now i am a newbie and not got hot or cold wfp,but surly if its cold the heater does not have to be working so eliminating the risk of any cracked windows and then turn it on when temp rises ???
