Does anyone on the group really know what the difference
Is,and what defines the quality of  micro fiber cleaning cloths?
What I mean is,ya go into say Poundstrecher in town or
Wilkinsons and they sell em`3 in a pack for a £1 right?
Then there`s for instance The Vikan Easy Shine Kit,the price
Of theirs is around 5 times that.Ettore and Unger sell theirs
At £3.50p and even £4.50 each.

i can only comment on the unger cloth it far better than the cheap one's it is a chiffon fabric very smooth unlike the cheap one's which are more towel like also they are a larger cloth

i use the flat weave big microfibre cloths.much better than wilko cheapos.55quid for 10 from the windowclean centre.well worth the money.much better for detailing and polishing leaded windows than the 'towel' variety.ive spent 600quid this year on new ladders,micros/scrim/squeegys,poles etc.use the best professional equipment u can afford as ull b giving it some hammer day in day out!

the cheap towelling type ones are normaly used for washing sills frames cleaning your blade where as the big flat weave ones are used for detailing

Dont like SYR they fluff, do like the 90p ones from my local cleanig supplies, used to like the v.large ettore smooth blue ones.

I went through a microfibre stage a few years back; I think the large Unger microfibre cloths were the best I'd used, and I think they were about £10 each.

Now I just use scrim; I like it!

I've used loads of different microfibre cloths, inc' unger, etorre, WCW, cleantech's etc. Even the best ones are only ok for buffing glass, when it comes to detailing they're crap IMO. Unger pre-washed scrim all day long for me.

Price will be based on the size of the cloth, finer weave, and quality of finish, middle men and quantity.

I agree.

General microfibre cloths should be ok for cleaning sills and UPVC but for glass I would look for cloths designed specifically for this purpose.  Look for a cloth that is around 320 gsm, 0.13 denier.  I appreciate not all suppliers provide this level of information.

I'm using AQUAPUR cloths from LIDS,... 2 in a pack £1.95 (the green ones), realy good stuff.

scrims are the best,  I only use the unger cloths for drying and polishing the car
