Sorry to hear of another WC in this situation,.. but it highlights the reasons why ladders are banned. ;)

OK OK Stan,.. not banned, but definitely restricted.

It is my personal opinion that the majority of window cleaning currently undertaken from ladders is in violation of HSA restrictions as outlined here:

If it can be cleaned without ladders, it should be. Simple really. Why take the risk if you don't need to? Save your life, go water fed.

Don't listen to those smart-arses telling you to get a WFP.  You just stick to those ladders, Stan!

personally i use both, there are many internal windows on commercial buildings where a ladder is the only practical solution if you want a good finish and the sills are to be wiped too, both methods have there uses and a ladder used correctly is just as safe as other methods of access including scaffolding etc, i am sure that in the future many will suffer from repetitive strain injuries from WFP this isnt because the use of WFP causes these injuries rather that people dont use correct methods and dont get their upper body muscles in a fit state to use the equipment. My point being the equipment used is only as safe as the operator using it and having used ladders for years before going WFP i still consider them a safe system of work in my hands.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt
