Best flow rate controller?
« on: October 17, 2009, 11:15:21 pm »
So what's the best flow rate controller.  I have a Varistream 2 and to be honest, although it works, it could be better.  What other makes are there and which one shines above them all?

i use 2 . The varistream digital and the purefreedom.
I can not see any difference in the working but the purefreedom does measure the battery voltage and stops before it impairs the battery which is a very useful feature.

It's the mk1 slx, I have the newer clamps on it now.  Also has a swivel just before the brush.

I did notice the lack of flex in the pole, that is certainly something I am looking at.
How light are they compared to the ExTel poles?

I have the 30ft slx and it is about the same weight as a 17ft xtel pole

I would agree with that, the wife uses an xtel 17 gf and the slx 25 I have is soooo much lighter.  I have a h xtel 28 as well and that is far more whippy and heavier and it's only about 3 ft longer.  Doing windows on the 1st floor with a rigid pole is like doing windows on the ground floor with a floppy one.

I thought you used water fed pole systems in Grantham and they supply their own brand flow controller. Did you not get on with it. I have one and it works OK

I asked dene to install varistream a some other windowcleaners my way had his controller and had problems. They said it was where it relied on the pressure switch on the pump and if that went then the pump kept pumping even when the flow was stopped causing a massive build up in pressure.

The varistream 2 is ok however a bit slow on the uptake sometimes. I also fill a backpack sometimes from the reel and the varistream won't let the pump be dialed up full with microbore.

I have a t piece positioned on the outlet hose from the tank and before the pump going to a 2metre piece of hose with an inline tap that I use for my backpack, it fills a lot quicker than using the microbore hose.
