Best system for making on demand water.
« on: September 19, 2009, 08:03:50 am »
Morning all. Small bit of history first. I've got the 1000l IBC that i use to fill up my tank in van at the end of the day. But i'm looking into buyin a system so that i can fill up as quickly as possible whilst on site. Is the merlin the way to go? If so, would i need a booster pump? I wouldn't wanna be wasting half hour as she fills up. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks gang.  ;)

Onsite you'd have a wide variety of tap pressures, and the merlin doesn't handle low pressure well. Also pressure pumps for merlins are power hungry so you wouldn't be able to run one from your wfp battery.

I'd recommend a 4040 with a low pressure membrane,...

I use a merlin with booster pump ( not a merlin one ) and it fills a tank very quickly but the pump does run off mains power.

Could you not fit a bigger tank or carry a few 25 ltr barrels of pure with you ?

I've only got a combo mate. I got a 250 in there. Don't think i could go much larger as far as the tank goes. Who sells the 4040 nathanael?
