i prob use between 2000 and 3000 litres a weekand a bag will last maybe 7/8 weeks should i get a ro system would it cut down on cost of resin?

An RO would get that 60 down to almost nothing.
My mains tds is around 350 and comes out of the RO at 6

Is your water metered as it would affect the cost?
DI waste = 0
RO waste = 100,000 - 300,000 litres a year depending on RO type (possibly even a bit more).
To cost this, if you are on a meter, you need to know your pure/waste ratio and cost per cubic metre of water.  If not on meter it's simpler to calculate.
RO would probably be cheaper long term but would take a while to repay outlay.  If on a meter, the time to repay outlay is a lot longer (if ever).

A Merlin would do the trick and cost the same as about 3 bags of resin, should get your water down to 5 tds no probs.

i would say a tds of 60 is a little high for just a DI, if it were me i would be inclined to get an RO

Depends on water pressure too.  Merlin produced water can have a higher TDS after a while as the membranes get older - especially if pressure is on the low side.  Mine has got up to 027 lately.  Pressure a bit below 40 PSI.  Waste restricted too which doesn't help.  Even under better conditions, they're not the cleanest of ROs I find but they're adequate if there's a DI to polish after it.

I would recommend having 2x 19 or 25lt di vesselles, when the first one goes over 7ppm fill the next and alternate, it prolongs the the life of your resin three or four fold.

Btw, I'm in Lancashire and the ppm is between 33-40 and a sack lasts me 7-8 weeks using 3-6000 lt per week.

Do you fillup from the same tap all the time?  Sound like contamination to me?

Note to guys(like me) who fill from custies outside taps(with permission of course) blast them out for a good 30 secs befor use.

The resin can only hold so many particles, when the tds rises it means they cant hold any more so you end up adding to the tap water tds with what is contained in the resin. Think of it like doing the washing up, at some point you end up cleaning plates with stinking water from previous cleans!

I have an IBC tank that has pure water made in it at home, which i will pump through my di in the van, which will last for months as its going in at 000

Do you not find it puts extra strain on your pump?

I'm assuming you use a surflo 100psi/similar flojet.

get an RO ronnie, it'll pay for it self in 5-6months.
and a bag of resin will then last you around 12months, more if you have a larger DI, mine is only 6.5ltr.
i dont like the merlins, yes they produce fast but are not effecient, and need a pump to get the best out of them, which will cost a chunk as much as the RO unit.
heck, buy 2 RO's you'll still save money in the year!
