Algarde is an ideal pole hose, it never kinks, but does tangle round everything. I use it as an extension for my backpack hose too, but as I said it would tangle round a daisy.
Algarde is silicon, so you could use it to keep your trousers up if needed, it's so stretchy.
6mm outside diameter is ideal and will stretch over a 6mm coupling. You can stop the flow by just folding the hose over. I have a 2" piece of thicker hose tied to my pole, so I just fold the Algarde over double and insert it into the 2"piece of hose. It's like having a tap wherever you need it.
I use 6mm with the superlite2 and have no problem at height, it's a good deal lighter too.

Yes its worth buying but keep it on a Hozelock hozebox reel from Tesco, you will need spear fittings and adapters and it reduces your flow to approx 1.5 L/min max. If you cannot find the Algarde try searching for JBL silicon airline hose. Its not true silicon which is to stretchy but a silicon type of hose which wont overstretch.

I think you mean the hose acts as a temp water stopping method by bending the hose on its self.

Ionics specially imported this hose (apparently) and is very expensive, no other hose that i know off acts the same way, and does not kink.. But if you want the black Ioincs pole hose it can be found here
