How well does Envirodri work on black- top?
« on: August 26, 2009, 09:55:44 pm »
Got an Indian restaurant to do next week, have used a large rotary with a poly scrub brush in the past but found it hard work.
Not had a chance to use the Envirodri on really soiled carpets yet so was just wondering how well it might work. (With the white brushes)
Don't really have room in the van for both plus everything else so its one or the other.

Cheers
Paul

Erm, do you use a prespray at all?

Go with the white brushes and use a high ph enzyme prespray and you will get a great result. Easy. The bonnet's effectiveness is short lived in this scenario but the brushes will keep on working for you.

Yes Mike, would use Powerburst in this case.

Can't go far wrong with PB or an Enzyme like Pete suggests.

On these types of jobs a Hydraforce Sprayer is a must i used to use a pump up sprayer and always struggled on blacktop now with the the Hydraforce and a Rotary with a brush on it makes all the difference.

After a thorough pre-vac I'd pre-spray with Ultrapac Renovate, agitate with your Envirodri (if possible use white brushes). At this point the blacktop will mostly clear. Add Citra-Boost for really greasy areas, or just add anyway for a little more oomph.

HWE using F & F Rinse in the tank.

Obviously you will have to carry out the usual tests but this worked well for me on a filthy BW in an Indian Restaurant a few months back.

I can't really take credit though as I asked the same question and received many helpful answers via this very forum :)

Hope you've priced to include the moving around of all the tables and chairs, several times!!!

No no no I always prevac blacktop.  I find it totally useless but I always do exactly "What it says on the tin".  ;)

Hi Mike, in my very limited experience, Indian restaurants can have tiny dried up scraps scattered all over the carpet. These will just mush up when wet and thus create more work if not pre-vac'd.

True, Blacktop will be trodden down and matted and so not as susceptible to pre-vac.

However, if you intend to pre-vac the rest of the carpet then it can do no harm to run the vacuum over the Blacktop areas too.

Thanks for the replies. Guess I'll go with the Envirodri.
Its a night clean after restaurant closes and he is getting the staff to clear the tables and chairs for me.

I presume you weren't intending to do the job with dry compound ?  I think Martin 606 once posted to say that he'd had success solely with this method.  However most appear to use the Envirodri machine for pre-spray aggitation, followed by HWE.
