Cleaning Envirodri after use
« on: August 17, 2009, 04:14:45 pm »
Anyone got a quick easy method for above.
Used 3 times now and spending 10 mins removing brushes, cleaning the crap & hair from the underside and metal grate then running brushes under water.
I'm sure someone out there has an easier method.
Cheers

No, thats about it.
You might speed up knocking the pins out and putting them back again.

don't know if it would work the same but I clean off my sebo duo brushes by running the duo, running my extraction machine and using the hose cuff to dislodge and suck up all the crud off the brushes and surrounding area.

Was using that method on my Sebo Jim after you mentioned it previously. But doesn't really work on the Envirodri, much heavier to flip over and all the crud seems to tangle on the metal grating underneath.
Suppose I'll keep doing what I'm doing. Thanks for the replies.

I do the same as Derek (who of course I don't take seriously).
All the crud works its way out on the next job & then you just simply wand it up. The crap doesn't interfere with the brushes on the Envirodri whereas with the Sedo  it tends to clog them up & not give you the same efficient agitation

Hi Paul
It only  takes me a couple of minutes to clean in between jobs.

Use your vacuum cleaner with the crevice tool and a soft brush.Turn the brushes by hand as you are vacuuming and use the soft brush to remove the debris from the metal bar in the middle of the brushes. After your last job ,just knock the metal pins out, spray disinfectant around the brush housing and wipe.

Use  a power scrub instead as they don't get a build up of crap as they suck up any crap as it goes, also rinses at the same time.

I've found that the use of pre-sprays, especially if over-applied, makes subsequent cleaning more difficult.  But a large emulsion paint brush helps in cleaning out the difficult bits along the steel resting bar and near the brush-spindle holes.  I've always had to remove the brushes.
