Six fingered customers
« on: August 12, 2009, 09:40:03 pm »
Picked one up last winter "I need a cleaner, mine's gone to Australia for three months"
After three months I asked her if she still required my services. "yes please"

Turned up today and saw the old window cleaner working up the road. Got my kit out and started cleaning to find scrim marks down the sides of all the windows! The daft bat is paying for two of us on the same day!  ::)

Picked up a customer about a year ago. She in turn recommended me to two of her neighbours. This week she blew me out because her old window cleaner has turned up again AFTER A YEAR!.

I have been here before, blankly I said "Oh really, they must have let him out of prison early. Lets hope he doesn't beat up and rob any more of his customers"

Her face was a picture, but honestly who takes back a window cleaner after a year? What sort of window cleaner disappears for a year and expects his customers to want him back.

He was very cheap, thats why she took him back. I don't care and the other two customers have stayed with me anyway.

customers can be funny sometimes been doing windows for over 13 years and a customer can have a go at you and next time around do you a cup of tea i find that its what type of day they have and need a moan you have to be thick skinned and let it go in one ear and out of the other

Obviously someone who knows the cost of everything but the value of nothing.

for the past 2 years I have a fortnightly  round on a park home site one of my customers rang up to cancel as they "couldnt afford me any more"

anyway i went on tuesday  to do my round and there is a new cleaner who has started undercutting on there ive kept all my customers  apart from 2 and they are saving a grand total of £2 per month lol

custies eh you cant work em out

needless to say i wont be taking any custies back that drop me when its too cold for the new window cleaner to turn up

with regards to people undercutting it really annoys me ,fair enough if they just happen to be cheaper thats kind of ok but it still annoys me but when people blatantly udercut its totally wrong i would'nt dream of it in a million years

Sorry to appear thick and naive; but why "six fingered" customers? Dare I ask?

I had a customer do that once, she told me her last wc never returned, and I did them, and returned next month promptly on time, for her to tell me that someone did them yesterday, and I am not paying for them twice. I told her, she requested the work be done last month today and that is what has been done, so she will be invoiced. I hand delivered it myself, and she paid up, and I then dropped her immediately.

you meant customers trying to get a five fingered discount, didn't you?
