Pros and cons of working for someone else
« on: July 30, 2009, 01:52:29 pm »
Hi guys

Been offered some work by another window cleaner local to me. It's a couple of mornings a week doing shop fronts and a day a month commercial work.

It is all part of his round, so basically he would rent the work to me and pay me £300 a month for doing the cleans. It is good work, well established and I know most of the customers as I have helped him in the past from time to time.

To me it seems a very good deal, but was just wondering if anyone had any advice about anything I would need to be careful of or potential problems I may well have overlooked. Also would I need to consider drawing up a contract or anything else in writing.

Cheers for your help.

Got to be one or the other - if he rents it to you, you pay him.  If he pays you, he is employing you.

Important to get it right as there are tax and insurance implications
