I teamed up with a local guy in my area he repairs PVCu  or aluminium windows doors and Conservatories etc, I cleaned a conservatory roof in and out and discovered it leaked the custy said they can't get anyone to repair it but plenty of companies want to replace it  ::) so I told the custy to check my website.

So I know this guy just got a £700 job from one of my custy, I even gave the guy a page on my website because it looks good and we both do well out of each other by teaming up and helping each other out.

Oh and I had an extra £20 from my custy because I saved him quite a lot of money so everyone came out happy.

This guy wrote to me and asked to team up and because of the service he offered I took him up on the offer so check out you local yellow pages for someone who does this type of work and write to them or pop in and see them.

I also teamed up long ago like Joe with the local wheelie bin cleaner.

These cozy arrangements work in theory but in seldom in practice.

Reality is that your bin man will not have a pocketful of your cards to hand to every one of his customers any more than you will recommend his services to all of your customers.

What might happen is that if one of his customers happens to ask him if he knows of a window cleaner he'll recommend you in much the same way if one of your customers wants a wheelie bin guy (1 chance in a million here) you'll recommend him.

The guy who cleans my carpets annually: I have a few of his card in my wallet and if asked I happily hand them out to my customers. But do I say to them "If you want your carpets cleaned here's the card of somebody I know."...do I heck!

jouk i do it with a wheelie bin guy whos my customer, he doesnt work for himself, but every time he gets me a customer he gets his windows done for free, doesnt take long and in the middle of a load of terraced houses i do anyway.

i also recommend a ultra sonic blind cleaning company and vice versa.

Jouk, I'm not suggesting it's a bad idea or a waste of time, just that it's a limited concept.

As I said I have cards of my carpet cleaning mate in my wallet and he has some of my cards and yes from time to time we get a bit of biz for each other..but it's a few yearly if that.

Anyway nothing ventured nothing gained..as they say!

I have teamed up with a carpet cleaner in Essex, I have passed on work for him and vice versa.
Its just another form of advertising in my eyes.
Reaching parts traditional window cleaners can not reach.
