help with builders quote
« on: June 16, 2009, 09:15:12 pm »
i am hoping someone can give me some idea on just how to quote for 8 - 3 story 4 bed houses. This is the first time i have had to quote on more than one property and they are 2 large 4 bed and 2 slightly smaller and 4 a little smaller still, i am capable of doing the work but not sure as how to price. Do i price as a unit ie  largest 1 day =£200 and scale down accordingly or just go for £200 x 8 units £1600 as would not be interested in doing for less, pig of a job

The builders/developers would want a set price.

So pricing per day or per hour is of no use to them. You will need to charge per unit (overall total)

Charge well, probably 4-6 times as much as a general one off clean.

They will probably go for the cheapest quote anyway - BUT as you say it needs to be worth your while as you going to absolutely hate the job, and hate the entire day! Its a right ball ache.

Remember get a scratch damage waiver for the windows and anything else, like the baths, mirrors signed before you even go on site. They are very likely to have been scratched when installing or general work inside and they haven;t been covered up or look after - and they will look to claim that from you.

many thanks was going to price per unit anyhow on an estimate of time at around £30 per hour example i think largest would take at most 7 hours for one person so will price at £225 just in case. Never would have thought of scratch waver so thanks for that am pricing as if doing on my own but will have some pt help do my rates seem about ok
