Securing tank in astravan & protecting the floor
« on: May 25, 2009, 07:38:13 pm »
Hello,

I have just started as a window cleaner after being made redundant. Got most of my parts and now got my van. I am unsure how to mount my tank in the van its a 250ltr standard tank. Height 325mm Width 825mm Length 1100mm.

The tank fits with a few centimetres spare off the wheel arches with its length across the width of the van.

Can i mount the tank as far forward possible giving me the room at the back for my reel and other items? (This also means i would not be covering my spare wheel which would help)

How can i bolt my tank to the van?

I have a family member who will weld for me. We were thinking of welding a frame around the tank that somehow bolts to the chassis. How can i connect it to the chassis on the astravan? What do i need to keep in mind or be careful off?

I have also considered painting my van floor to protect it. Is this the best way of protecting the floor from rust? Where is the best place to get it from?

Thanks for your help

Andrew
