Having been asked by a few different customers about scotchguard protection on carpets, I am wondering whether to provide this as a service.
Is it something I would need to be trained to do? 
Is something that could be a good extra earner? 
As I am still trying to grow the business, I wonder if this would be a good extra service to offer - what do you think?

Hi Ben, definitely worth getting yourself some training by the sounds of things.

I can recommend NCCA, IICRC and also Alltec's 'hands-on' courses. There are several others that also receive excellent reviews. Just search 'training' on here.

During training you will be talked through all aspects of Carpet and dependant on the course, Upholstery Cleaning. You will also get the opportunity to ask as many questions as you wish.

There are some rudimentary basics that you need to know about protectors, such as the different types, how they work etc.  There is some essential technical knowledge you need to take on board before doing it..

But when all's said and done, it's just some stuff you spray on a carpet really :  As long as you don't do it badly you're fine.
