dealing with non-paying customers!
« on: May 11, 2009, 08:16:25 am »
Good Morning all,

No doubt this has been answered numerous times (hopefully) though cannot see it on the faq's.

I have a customer who we have done numerous builders cleans for, however all properties are now let or sold & after several phone calls to the builders office we still not have received payment for the last 2 jobs.
We have been told that the 'check will be posted out today' but to no avail on 2 occasions. payment is now 2 months late.
What is the best way to recover our money, though I know where the builder lives, I think sending my husband around is the last resort.
Is there a standard letter We can send or mention small claims court?

Thanks in Advance
Jason

Well it depends on how much is owed to you!

If its only a few £100 pounds then it might not be worth worrying about!

You have time to get it back its a case of letters, and you can always use the Courts.

If its more than £750 pounds you can issue a winding up order.

Just be that squeaky wheel and get on their nerves, if they have the money they'll pay you but they may well be broke - ask them. You may have to wait but if you burn the bridge you won't get work when things pick up
