I have started to use different products (Prochem stuff!) and was wondering what you guys think are the best chemicals to use on upholstery. Am I right in thinking Ultrapac Renovate shouldn't be used? That's just what I've picked up from the archives!

natural orange from hydramaster for heavy soils rinsed with clearwater rinse from hydramaster
onestep fine line for light soils rinsed with plane softened water.

i sometimes use onestep concentrate when natural orange doesn't get it all out. (as a second clean on the stubborn bits)

for the last 8yrs I've used  Microslitters on 99% of upholstery, never had a bad result

before that I used Prochem upholstery pre-spray and rinsed with double clean

I use Ultrapac on heavily soiled, nicotene soiled pub upholstery and rinse with crystal green.
On domestics Fab res or Pureclean and clearwater rinse or FF

Same as mike halliday and started microsplitters in jan find it much easier and the finish great and drys without any problems

I used to use Prochem Fabric restorer and F&F rinse, but recently used one step micro-splitter - simple and a great result so I might be using this a little more. It seemed to work well on a poly-cotton suite and a dralon as well.

Double clean on upholstery, is that ok??
Thought it was just for carpets.Which microsplitters??
Have been using F.Restorer followed by F & F Rinse all the time and never been happy with results
on anything other than very light soiling.

i did a day on our suite, one cushion per cleaning solution, all rinsed with clearwater rinse. fab rstorer, onestep, natural orange, and something else which i'm not allowed to mention. the best results came from natural orange and the one i'm not allowed to mention, followed closely by one step and in last place was fab restorer, i'm sure it has its place but on this test it came last, oh and i also tested a really strong product from hydra master, can't remember what its called but that didnt fare well either.

I use M-Power for the general areas, Solutions Heavy Duty for arms and heads area.  Microfibre mitt for the agitations.

Always prespray with Fabric Restorer and rinse with Fab Clean always get great results.

John,
What are you using for agitation and what dwell time , these solutions should give good results if used correctly.
I used the same 2 for years and always got good results.

On light to medium soiled upholstery id use either One Step MS or Prochem Pure Clean,  on heavy soil use prochem Fabric Restorer follwed by F&F rinse.

Might just be me expecting miracles after seeing some of the before and after so called pictures.
They always show a massive difference before and after.
On carpets yes there can be a massive difference I've seen it myself but with upholstery maybe the
difference isn't always as clear or is it??
You say you used for 2 years, what do you use now then and why the change after 2 years?

Where do you get natural orange and the stuff you can't mention (God knows why)

I use Pureclean now John because it works out far cheaper, just hot water rinse.
You wont always see the best results on upholstery until its dry.
I would give a little more dwell time, say 10 mins to let the pre-spray do the work, make sure pre-spray is hot.
Work on 2 cushions at a time, so spray 2 both sides and agitate then go to the 1st one and extract.
