If you can afford one, get a new one (if no 2nd hand avilable).
You can use it with other machines and will last for years

In all the years I've been on these forums I don't think I've ever seen one for sale 2nd hand.

Gordon
There are plenty of good tools besides the one you want
Know c cleaners that have been in buisness for years and some still use the old see through upholstery tool for stairs

The clear plastic ones are ok and only £60-£70 but the problem is after a few months the plastic bows in the middle giving uneven recovery. Another £30 gets you a stainless steel version, look here

, plenty of choice but get the best you can afford.

Thanks for your comments guys.My hose has the detergent trigger fixed to it. Is it easy to adapt other stair tools to fit? Thanks once again Gordon

If I understand, just cut it off. Get yourself a quick connector male or female and fit to the hose. A local tool hire place can normally fit compressed collars which are better than jubilee clips. Post a picture might make it more clear what your problem is
