It's a sad fact that customers are programmed to shop around, cheaper is one reason also location as they may have moved home and also they sometimes try someone else, it's just the society we live in now, we are brainwashed into trying everything we can at cheaper prices.

Conditioning guys.....the marketing adopted by virtually all well known brands is centered around " how cheap the product is " or " this week only promotions " and it's cheap T V to get the likes of Dom Littlewood showing the punters how to " never pay the asking price "

All of this has a conditioning effect and it kicked in with the " out of town " retail stores 30 years ago. First of all it was Dodge City which became B & Q and a number furniture and carpet retailers followed.

We now have virtually every well known brand in either out of town business parks or shopping malls.

All are marketing on PRICE

You can join them as most of you already do, by offering FREE third carpet cleaned / free protection / or whatever, or you can slot your prices in below the most expensive but well above the cheapest.

Or you could claim to be " unique " which we all are to some extent, or claim to be the best around or you could just do each job to the best of your ability and if you are genuinely good and offer value for money you will get referrals for life. BUT YOU NEED TO REMIND YOUR CLIENTS THAT YOU'RE STILL AROUND

I'm not sure about the speed within reason but if yuo are really fast you have to get the right results if you take longer but the stain doesn't come out then they know you have tried.
