Consv roof anti-glare product
« on: April 15, 2009, 09:04:28 pm »
I was cleaning this consv roof for an old lady this afternoon, and she told me that she had paid a contractor £800.00 to fit and anti-glare shield in her consv roof.
It consisted of strips of perforated silver foil, that were fed up each of the sections of the polycarbonate sheets. From the inside it still let through most of the light but apparently helped to keep the consv cooler than before.
Anyone come across this product? Seemed alot of money to me, as she said it took them all day to fit it....all day 2 of them for £800...that's good money in anyone's book !

Yes I've seen it. My family own a double glazing company and they had a mock set up in the factory. It really does work. Prices are £500 for the average conservatory  here in Brum.

yes, seems pretty good, been around a while blinds companies sell and fit them, didnt know they cost that much as it is literally just insrting them in the individual channels.

This was only a fairly small half round conservatory, they put a rubber end cap on to hold the solar inserts in place.
I don't know whether they cleaned out the channels, they did look fairly clean.
I reckon I could have slid these inserts in a couple of hours on my own.

it would be very rare that the insets of the twin / triple wall roof will be dirty

its a good earner, a 3 M2 roof need materials of about 400 quid to do the job, it takes about 6 hours to do ( on your own, when you get the hang of it )
