No the whole idea of having a flow controller is that it "intelligently" reads the pressure in order to protect yer pump, suuposedly saving wear of the pump but i'm not sure if it saves with the extra cost of the flowmaster. Anyway it won't damage or cause problems as long as you clean windows and dont expect to preshure wash patios!

I use the push fit type on my Freedom trolly,I took off the original hoselock type off and added about another eight metres of hose with a pushfit fitting on so I can wear it on my belt with an on/off tap.
It did originally come with a hoselock female connector and an added metre with a pushfit fitting as all my poles and van mount had the same push fit fittings but found after a while the trolly's female connector piece would blow off the remaining piece of meter so I hust added more metres with a different fitting,if I get airlocks I simply have a small piece of 5 mm tubing about 18 inches long with a male push fit fitting and bleed the water through.
