Chlorine

Has anyone tested the efficiency of their pre-filters at removing chlorine?

I went to a swimming pool dealer the other day and bought some total chlorine testing tablets. I discovered that I could detect chlorine in the water after the RO after just 4000 lts had passed through the membranes.

I thought the idea of the carbon pre-filters, of which I have 2, a carbon block and an activated carbon filter, was to remove the chlorine because the RO membranes were sensitive to it.

The 4000 lts that past through my 300 gpd RO equates to about 2000 lts purified before the chlorine was detectable.
