i have just had a freind of mine fax me a flyer thats arrived through his door, he operates in the blackpool area. flyer reads as follows. lounge  £9.00. hall stairs landing £15.00. double bedroom £10.., bathroom £4.00. and 3 piece suites £12.00.! whats going on. i know sometimes we want to get our feet through the front door, but would you want to work for this/?

Sorry missus the lounge has 5 stains at £5 each, then you need the traffic lane cleaner £5, it stinks in here that's £5 for the deodouriser etc etc etc.

wouldnt worry about that firm guarantee you they aint doing the job properly...just gonna clean your suite with this mop misses

it is just not possible to deliver any kind of good job at that price

Often see these types of leaflets but mainly 50% off and in your area for two weeks, all I will say buyer beware, as they want a clean to a price!

If a suite clean costs £12 and you do it in say a speedy 2 hours then there is the travelling and then the products to clean with and petrol and the advertising, they would be working for £0.01 an hour so there must be a catch!

I once got called out to a customer on a Thursday who had 3 piece cleaned on the Monday and it was still wet and also starting to smell!!
They got there at 8am in the morning and left at 8.25am it cost her £29 for someone to come in and ruin her 3 piece. And they did it for half price!!

It was one of those where they were in the area for that week only.
When she tried to ring them it was a dead line 
I really do wonder about joe public sometimes

Hi,

Have seen all of the above prices and types of leaflet through my own front door.
Have also gone out to local people who have paid these people money to make their carpets so wet that they end up stinking and taking up to a week to dry.

There will always be companies around like this, as will there always be the portion of the public who will always buy the cheapest no matter what.

Don't loose sleep over these leaflets, if you are offering a professional service they won't be taking your clients.

Yeh, Bigfish covered it. I called to carry out a survey on a three piece suite and the woman told me she was pleasantly surprised at my professionalism. She said she had booked a leaflet waller to clean her suite for £30 and when he saw it his exact words where "you must be jokin missus, thirty quid for that!!, it would take me about 2 hours to clean it!! and I have got another seven jobs to do today"!!.  "There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people that consider price only are this man's lawful prey" (printed on my survey sheets next to the final price)

There is a company about 25 miles away that has been advertising these prices for years.

They are still in business, they can still afford to  so they must be making money

I do not aprove but isnt carpet cleaning ment to be a money making machine.? And they are doing that.
