Hi P and R Cleaning

I have a block paved driveway to clean in Enfield this Thursday.
I could go to this site for you on Thursday to have a look and measure up and give you or client a quote.

Please let me know

The standard gap left between BLOCKS is 3mm but its about 50/60mm deep. Kiln dried sand is very fine and of course DRY so it gets down to the base sand, which  incidently IS sharp sand compacted!

Sharp sand or any other course sand wont get down to the bottom without "grabing" the sides, causing voids in the joints.

However kiln dried is probably to fine for between slabs or flags so a sharp sand or even a building sand will fill the joints
I'm always in the poo, it's just the depth that varies

What's the ideal pressure for jet washing??
Was thinking about going into this, just seen a few nice ones on the Stihl site but there all electric.
Are electric ones ok??

I would recommend Petrol or Diesel as it is less restrictive in respect of jobs you can take on.

Honda with Interpump are great.  You'll need a minimum of 11bhp, 200 bar (3000 psi)  and 15 LPM flow.

Go for a low speed pump driven via reduction gearbox as this will not be running at full pelt all the time and thus last longer.

For more details I'd suggest that you do a search as this subject has been aired many times.

If you want solid advice before you commit to buy speak to Malcolm Smith who knows a thing or two! He will help you with a complete package and then some.

Malcolm has a website: -

Tell him I told you to contact him and said that you'd be OK for a bit of a discount :-)

Best of luck

Ian

He's been a member of this forum for 2 years and has posted about 1130 post's.
He's more than likley busy, I think his main income is window cleaning with one o them fancy urdy gurdy thingimis.
His origonal post was on 24th thats only 4 days, a big job like that usually isn't urgent. I go days without getting near a PC
