a bit of ptfe spray on your finger might make it sharper and less painful  :-X ;D

It really seemed to keep the hose cleaner, just have to see how long it lasts.

I got some spray from a local pipe fitters, they were only £1.70 +vat each

BARGAIN!

rats...there aren't any pipe fitters in the yellow pages.

any idea if it's used with plastic pipework? (might help me to track some down locally)

I gave my slx a coat of ptfe spay yesterday, and thought I would give the pole hose a coat at the same time to help it glide through the pole end cap, anyway today I noticed that the pole hose is not picking up half as much grit, mud and crap from the ground now, when I put the pole away, I noticed the hose was as clean as when I started this morning, without wiping it off at all.

From now on it will be getting a quick spray every week. Happy days :)

However, I managed to get the brush coated too which was a nightmare to get off. Unhappy days  :(

Did you take the slx apart or just spray each selection.

Make sure that you use 'dry' PTFE spray, not the PTFE enriched wet sprays.
