sorry not been able to reply to my own topic...been busy fising something that ionics should have taken responsibility of, then going round all my work and having to appologise to every single customer and re-do their windows for free.

The £300 price tag i stated was what i was told over the phone when i called Ionics. It was £264 + Vat or somethign like that.

You need to contact Craig Mowlam direct, the muppets in the office are a waste of time. I had an issue with BWCA with the office staff, contacted Craig all sorted. Did have his contact but have lost it, maybe someone else may have it.

normally any slight mumour of dissatisfaction about ironics and the fanboys are here like a flash with any of the following posts :

Ionics are simply the best i had my system for five years NO PROBLEMS,  i have not changed a filter for 18 months i use 5000ltrs per week, i took tds reading yesterday....0.01

I now building a static only because it cheaper so i wont really have commparisons for a year or 2 when i have to work out costs of replacement filters etc.

After reading original thread i would be highly dissapointed if ionics did not sort things out for free.

lol of course i didnt notice the beads on the glass, else i wouldnt have been in the possition im in right now  ;~)

we are only talking about a small handfull that was lost during the course of one or two days. But that handful was enough to leave a small gap all along the top of the filter, and naturally the water must have taken the fastest flowing route missing the resin and thus making a mess of the windows

I would have thought Ionics would fit a strainer before the pump anyway so it's either there or swimming round the tank?

there is a small spongue just before the exit hole that the hose lock fits to.

Yes im sure that it got out, there was a substantial gap in the chamber where resin used to be and when i took the filter off the system i put it in the sink in the house to drain beofre working on it as i didnt want it dripping all over the floors. Went to get it out the sink and there was a noticable amount in the sink. Im guessing the leakage took place over a couple of days but only really caused a problem towards the end.
