Emailing!
« on: February 20, 2009, 01:34:53 pm »
Bit of help please!
I live in a very rural part of the country, and i am thinking of emailing prospective customers! Am looking for any ideas as to what to write in my email. My idea is to email mainly holiday lets in my area, unfortunately  they spread over  an area ,where leafleting doesnt seem viable. Any help gratefully recieved.
Thanks Dale

Have a read up about unsolicited emails or spamming, you can get fined for it. it is a very grey area but best to be certain.

Make up a nice leaflet as a word document or what ever program you use showing the service you offer and then export it as a PDF.

I would have thought there isnt much difference ,between emailing  and sending a flyer through the post  ???

it's not spamming to send one email. just let them know you opperate in their area, big up the aspect of a good first impression increasing the chance of a return booking for them and the fact it's one less thing for them to worry about if they know they are having the windows cleaned regularly.
also thank them for their time as you realise your email was unsolicited. ;)
and if you have a website include a link to it

Simon.

I wouldn't open any attachments myself.
What might catch my eye would be an email which has something like 'window cleaning services offered in...' and the village name of wherever the property is located. Then some info about what is offered etc.

It would have to be simple and quick to read for me to have a glance.

What you are proposing does seem a very good idea though. Because emailing the holiday let info address means they are bound to open it because it could be a let.

if yuo own the website, I would make sure they added a contact number, I would then personally ring them, email marketing is a very low take up like 1 in 1000 if your very lucky, im not saying dont try it, but there are better wats to do it. One thing mailing peole that think it is a let and it is not will class it as spam as that is what it would be.
